FARM FRITES POLAND

Farm Frites Poland S.A. was established in 1994 as a joint venture of two Dutch companies: Farm Frites BV and Aviko BV. The factory was located in Lebork because of the local climate and soil, perfectly suited to the growing of potatoes (I Class of Potato Health).


Also of great help was the friendly attitude of the local authorities. The mayor of Lebork welcomed the new foreign investment as a great opportunity for the town’s development. An attractive site was located, which was connected to the urban network and the utilities necessary for the functioning of the factory.



The investment has undoubtedly invigorated the town’s economy by creating many new jobs at the factory and establishing contacts with numerous contractors. The municipality also contributed to the project by building a beltway.


In September 1994, just 12 months after the decision had been taken to build the factory, there was a grand opening and the production began.


At that time the company employed 180 employees, including several Dutch specialists. The latter group worked towards implementing highest international standards of production at the site, yet their primary aim was to train Polish workers who could quickly take over their responsibilities. Thanks to the high skills and ambition of Polish employees this goal was achieved very quickly.


Poland also proved to be a very friendly country for employees from the Netherlands – some of them settled down in Poland, even starting their families here.
